Japan - Michael & Mary Jo Wilson
Mike and Mary Jo are working to build a church multiplication movement through Asian Access that will saturate Okinawa, Japan, and Asia with new churches.
They work through:
- Coaching pastors and church planters
- Hands on evangelism using outreach activities
- Implementing systems of discipleship and leader development
Why Japan?Yes, Japan is one of the most technologically advanced nations on the face of the earth. Yet, families are falling apart, the already high suicide rate is increasing precipitously, and morals are eroding alarmingly. The Japanese Church only reaches 0.6% of the Japanese people with the Good News of Christ currently. Last year 65% of Japanese churches did not baptize even one new believer! In addition, the number of church closures in Japan last year slightly exceeded the number of new churches planted.
Through Asian Access development of new leaders and the multiplication of new churches, many Japanese are being reached with the transforming power of the Gospel. 30 new churches have been started through this work over the last 10 years in the nation of Japan. God is creating a new church multiplication movement with 40-60 new church starts planned to begin this year in regions all over Japan.
