Wisconsin - Don and Teleka Dewing
The Midwest Indian Mission's, located in Crandon, Wisconsin, purpose is to propagate the gospel of Jesus through the establishing of indigenous churches, conducting Vacation Bible Schools, Bible Camps, Bible Studies and Preaching Services among the Native Americans on the Potawatomi and Chippwatomi Reservations.Other ministries include Women's Ministries, Wilderness Camping, Counseling and education through New Hope Christian School, the New Hope Shelter and Transitional Housing, and the Wasmogishek Food Pantry.

- Ten percent of Forest County (where we live) are Native Americans but 54% of the jail population is Native.
- Native Americans are the only people group in the United States that has to be pedigreed with paperwork to prove their blood line and heritage to enroll in a tribe.
- There is no word for sin in the Potawatomi or Chippewa language.
- Many Native American people believe that they are in a covenant relationship with the Creator God thus they do not need Jesus.
- Native Americans do not get a monthly stipend for being Indian.
- About 60% of the Indian people on the reservations we serve are under 16 years of age!
- Life expectancy for a Indian person is in the mid 50's.
- The three leading causes of death for a Native American is, suicide, homicide and alcohol/drug related deaths.
- Don's ministry includes pastoring the Lake Lucerne Gospel Chapel and leading youth groups
- Serves as Director of the Midwest Indian Mission and Director of Wasmogishek Summer Camp
- Chaplin of the Forest County Jail and holds services at the jail each Tuesday along with counseling at the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center each Friday.
Reservations churches under the direction of Midwest Indian Missions include:
- Lake Lucerene Gospel Chapel, Sunnyside Community Church and
- Mole Lake Gospel Chapel.
