Myanmar Update Sept, 2008
BTCchurch Family,
"Very, very exciting." - Peter, Myanmar Orphanage Director
What a privilege to be "crunching new snow" in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God. Since our last update on the Myanmar Cyclone Relief, things have continued to progress.
The work has grown from two villages to seven where we have:
- Purchased four rice planting machines
- Built a strategic wooden bridge linking the villages together
- Moved a church planter in to share Christ (20 people have given their lives to Christ!)
- Given weekly shipments of clothes, food, water, blankets, fuel and other items
To dedicate the bridge, Peter and a group from Love Children's Home fed thousands of villagers lunch and gave them blankets while the students sang Christian songs. Peter spoke about Jesus... "as our eternal bridge that nothing could not destroy. Very, very exciting."
Praise God for the work that He is allowing us to be a part of and for the favor He's given us with the authorities. Thank you for your donations, prayers and support which are making a difference in the poorest Asian country. You're helping to impact one of the least-reached nations in the world for Christ.
Romans 15:20, "It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation."
James 1:27, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
